Are you selling this Lead Console for SP10 Mk3 in ebay? There is an ebayer in HK with the name of fox selling this.

Brought someone from Alex (Foxtan) 2 or 3 weeks ago, local pick up; really a chat-able guy. Just give him a call (the phone number works, aha) |

Scallywag,
I did compare both once but there were too much variables to be truly conclusive — different arms, different cartridges and different setting up.
Nevertheless, the difference was not significant. The Mark 3 has probably less speed problem but the price is more than double.
The decision is yours, my friend.

>There is a remarks: "Never check for continuity by flicking the stylus with the finger"......... 咁點俾定位開光同祝福呀!@@<
________________________________________________________________
You have to be careful on how to interpret the instruction.
It is very obvious that, “flicking the stylus with the finger” should never be performed for the purpose of “check for continuity”, but that is ok, even preferred, for “俾定位開光同祝福”!
So, go ahead to bring your Decca to yumcha next time. :-)

>Demagnetization is the process by which the magnetic field of an object is reduced or eliminated.[3] The process of demagnetizing can be accomplished in many ways. One technique used for demagnetization is to heat the object above its Curie Temperature. The reason for this is that when a magnetic material is heated to its Curie Temperature, the material's magnetivity is eliminated. One other way of achieving demagnetization is to use an electric coil. If the object is retracted out of a coil with aternating current running through it, the object's dipoles will become randomized and the object will be demagnetized.[4]
Degaussing is the process of decreasing or eliminating an unwanted magnetic field. It is named after Carl Friedrich Gauss, an early researcher in the field of magnetism. Due to magnetic hysteresis it is generally not possible to reduce a magnetic field completely to zero, so degaussing typically induces a very small "known" field referred to as bias. <

So, demagnetizing is to reduce or eliminate a magnetic field, and degaussing is to reduce or eliminate an UNWANTD magnetic field!
As Belafonte said, this is clear as mud, but it covers the ground! :-)
