Absolutely, what is safety without good sound? We would never accept such compromise!
>How about replacing the entire ceiling with space frame structure?<

Good idea, but would it be better to do it to the entire building? Keeping the external walls just for the look and build a whole new structure inside! Kris has been telling me to put a couple of sky windows on the ceiling, maybe something like this:

No worries man, whatever beams and columns demolished will be avidly certified by daiwok who happens also to be a qualified structural engineer. The primary concern is good sound. Safety, however, must come next.

I will check with the engineers about taking out the floor plate between the 2nd and the 3rd floor :-)

If you need help, I have worked in structural engineering for some time too. I built many indoor games hall in HK and specialized in large span support. How about replacing the entire ceiling with space frame structure?

diawok,
Ok, I will check with the engineers about taking out the floor plate between the 2nd and the 3rd floor :-) But still, it would only be about 26' or so!
Also, I think I do have some stain glass in the 2nd floor!

wo.wo..wo...., Phantom + Midas Touch + A90? Â
------------------------------------------------
Yes, Ice. My A90 has been idling in a box for a few weeks while i try to get my speaker project sorted. And now that the DIY horn speakers has progressed to a decent state , at least to my ears ( took a while though), it's time to try the A90 with the new Touch from David. Happy match.:)
BTW after the Hong Kong trip, a lot of the local systems which used to impress me a lot no longer cuts it to my ears.

Kris,
you and Hans will get on superbly - he used to play in a Jazz band and has probably one of the biggest Jazz vinyl collections anywhere in the world !

Not funny, but should be fantastic ! I like your midas mod. DL103D very nice !! It's time for your to go for a second TT.
And congrat. to your new exploration on 'room coupling'. Seems the 0.382 or 0.618 factor rules.
daiwok, can you give him a helping hand on the stock of Midas Touch ?

that's the tonearm from a German guy called MiWi.
you can spot him on the LH forum meeting thread with the Elvis sideburns!
I'm sure we'll get to compare this to the Schick very soon.

TW-Acustic's Raven 10.5 tonearm ($5500) has sold briskly since its debut earlier in the year. Jeff Catalano of High Water Sound, the US distributor of TW-Acustic products, has the figure at "over 100" in the US alone. Jeff also relayed that all of the tonearm's parts (sans the cueing mechanism) -- and all of the parts for TW-Acustic's turntables -- are machined by the company, which has just purchased its second CNC lathe. |

Is this the latest version of the Schieck arm? I feel like the pivot (bearing housing) is quite different from the one that I was previously shown. |
