That long ? ^__^
Here is one you can make with materials from Japan Center. Mats are also for tuning depending on the type of table you have and the type of motor that is engaged. If the transfer of vibration from motor to platter is zero, then your mat is a tuning device for you cartridge.
Some may argue that they do not need a mat given how well made their turntables are ^__*

I don't fiddle much with platter mats and I believe the proof of the pad is in the listening.
The one on "Lenco Candy" I had tried before. 3 minutes was all I need to have it disposed of.

Morning Limage,
I suppose you are referring to the ridges on the surface of the mat?
There seems to be two opposite views as to the designs of platter/mat. One is that the LP should be firmly coupled to the platter/mat, and that is why we see all those record clamps, weights, peripheral rings, and even vacuum platters.
The other view is that LP should be decoupled from the platter/mat to (I suppose) minimize the transmission of vibration from the platter to the LP.
I don’t have much experience with this ridge-type platter/mat, but a newly designed slate plinthed idler drive table, the Saskia, which has received great reviews on the internet, also employs ridges on its platter.

Limage,
Thanks for changing the caps for me.
No wonder I was not very impressed with it at home, and I thought it was the problem of the stock plinth.
Maybe you should consider changing the caps inside the motor unit as well!

thekong,
Another potent contender, the National rice cooker, is now ready for your collection. It's been running perfectly with greater torque for hours without the slightest flicker on the speed display.
Your caps are in a poorer shape than mine!

Considering the performance of the Lenco that morning, I am a bit worried putting the Rockport back into the system :-O

I will be collecting your Lenco in Brussels very soon my Wicked friend ^__^ |

Limage,
Thanks for the kind words! For some reason, the system performed a lot better that morning than the week before when diawok and I were fine tuning it. Maybe it’s time for me to consider the Jellyfish to cut down on the inconsistency :-)

The couple of LPs you brought over were excellent, both in terms of music and recording! I hope you could post some photos of them so I could start sourcing :-)

Actually, these are used for the gear of R/C model cars.
Do you remember our discussion at your meeting room ?

Vash if they are for main bearing, then they are the wrong size - but ceramic is the right way to go. I have a ruby bearing which did not sound good at all :-( |
