回覆 (149): Germany vs England |
not the best of days ....... may be the result should wake up the English FA !!
.........today I went for a hair cut ........mobile slipped out during the hair wash, by the time the hair was cut, I realised it was gone ......the hair dresser saw I had it, suggested I call it, it was switched off already !! Owner told me to call the police ...... Already the owner was suspecting the new girl who had joined 2 days ago..... The phone turns up in the staff toilets .....after 2 hrs, I get my phone back and police continue their work ....... Another Sunday wasted ! But happy I have the phone back ....
then I see this horrifying football, even is Lampard had scored this next free kick did not hit the bar, you could not see how England was going to score ..........

It seems like, together with the Lenco L75, Dr Feikeung was having a similar "type" of setup as diawok today!
Dr. Feikeung, do visit diawok sometime, I am sure you will have a whole new experience ;-)
One interesting thing about the Lenco motor, I have seen diawok using a simple procedure to fine tune the Lenco motor before installation, after which I could feel the virbration dropped considerably when holding the motor in my hands!

I was âsweetâ fifteen going to sixteen (and apparently had never been kissed). The Lenco L75, which retailed for two hundred and change, was a luxury item for us kids. I had owned a few PEs and Duals models with smallish 8-10.5â platters before. Some of my friends settled for the model below L75, which retailed for HK$160 and had a stamped platter as opposed to L75âs die-cast platter. The L75 was selling like hot cakes because it had no competition near the price range. Want something significantly better? You had to dish out HK$400 for the lowest model Thorens TD150, which was of course many many times gooder then the L75 in all aspects but HK$235 was a few monthsâ savings and was the upper limit for teenagers back then.
I had a home-brew 7189 (6BQ5) single-end driving a pair of made in China ç´
çç15âwoofer and a horn of dubious origin which I pick up from Duck Street for cheap. The sound was, by todayâs standard, atrocious but was good enough for us kids playing Bee Geesâ. There was no grille for the woofers so I could constantly see the paper cones shiver as if they had caught a bad cold. It did not take much to find out that the Lenco was the culprit ----- the 50 Hz signal sucked more power from the amp than the music itself.

that Lenco rumbles like hell !!!

It seems Dr Feikeung was far a head of us all. He spoke about seeing the woofer flapping with the rumble from the motor. Certainly he looked under the skirt and was well adversed in the whole mechanism as he described to me how everything worked and intertwined together ^__^ |

diawok,
Before I met you, I have read about the raves on Lencos in Audiogon and other forums, but I was rather skeptical about it being able to equal, let alone surpass, the performance of high-end belt drive turntables. The rumble just seemed to be too big a problem to overcome! Also, to be honest, the look is just not too attractive :-)
Now that I have heard your latest creation, I am a believer. I have no doubt that limage and feikeung will be impressed when they have the chance to experience it! Maybe feikeung will even start playing vinyl again!

Understanding the basics is so important in order to move forward and take something from the past and improve on it.
After a heart felt sweat shop session with kong and icefox to start a new journey for new found turntable energy we will not only talk about idlers here but also Direct Drives !
A nicely concluded discussion was with Dr Feikeung who actually owned a Lenco in the past a L75 !!
I believe also Limage owned a Lenco as well !
The puzzling part for these wise guys ? that Lenco rumbles like hell !!!
Well it does, you just need to tame the rumble and tune the performance ^__*
I am sure in the coming months we will demonstrate some interesting listening sessions and possible shoot outs ^__^ |

Fully working, manual record player made entirely of paper. To play the record the
handle needs to be turned in a clockwise direction at a steady 331/3rpm. The paper cone
then acts as a pickup, amplifying the sound enough to make it audible. (Record shown,
The Sound of Music 1965). |

Wow, this is one horribly smashing speaker system, huge and ingenious all in one!
The subwoofer looks solid and powerful enough to rock a four storey building while the large number of mid-range drivers and tweeters,
given their generous flexibility, may just be placed anywhere to suit the wildest scope of individual requirements.
